Wilmington - The Los Angeles City Fire Department has rescued two workers after they fell into a 30-foot underground fuel at a chemical treatment while doing a routine cleanup and maintenance on the tank, reports said.
Authorities said the two workers were rescued after another called 911 for assistance and stayed with the victims until the rescuers came.
Rescue crews immediately checked on the injured workers and conducted tests to determine the extent and risk of exposure of the victims to the hazardous material. Luckily, however, the victims were not seriously injured.
The two victims were transported to a hospital for further examination.
