CHAIN ACCIDENT: CHP officer, 4 others seriously injured after 405 Freeway multiple crash

Palm - A California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer sustained serious injuries while four other people were rushed to UCLA Medical center after a multiple vehicle accident in San Diego (405) Freeway.
The 27-year old CHP officer, , was citing a Honda SUV in the right shoulder of 405 Freeway northbound when an Infiniti Sedan illegally crossed the right shoulder and collided with the motorcycle and the car.
Investigators said that the CHP officer was thrown against the back of SUV, causing it to flip on its side. The drivers of the SUV and Infinity sustained injuries, along with the two occupants.
An eyewitness, Jack Reyes, reported how the CHP officer suffered cardiac arrest. Paramedics arrived shortly and transported the traffic officer through airlift.
The multiple vehicle accident compelled authorities to close 405 Freeway for two hours. Details on the cause of accident are still under investigation.
