RAILROAD ACCIDENT: Carlsbad Woman hit and Killed by Freight Train

Carlsbad – An unidentified woman has reportedly died after being hit by a freight train at around 10:30 pm the other day. The incident occurred near Grand Avenue.

Authorities said witnesses saw the woman jumping on and off the tracks and arguing with someone before the accident happened.

Witnesses said the woman ignored the flashing lights and the lowered crossing arm and stood at the tracks.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the causes of the accident. The name of the victim was not released pending notification of her relatives.
