EMPLOYMENT LAW: Court Rejects Billionaire’s Ex-Employee Overtime Compensation Wages Claim
March 9, 2010
Santa Ana - A former worker of the Management Co., which Henry Nicholas III partly owns, will go home empty handed after an Orange County Superior judge has refused to award her with overtime compensation wages.
According to reports, Judge Derek Hunt decided that Katherine Nichols was an exempt worker of the company and is not entitled to receive back wages.
A jury rejected another claim by the former employee a week ago wherein she alleged that she was fired after testifying before a criminal grand jury that investigated Nicholas.
Reports said she filed the suit in February 2009, after she worked in the company for a year.
