Bicycle Accident: Cyclist Dies in Visalia Accident

Visalia; A 56-year-old cyclist was killed Friday morning after his bicycle was hit by a pickup truck on Road 44 south of Avenue 313, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The CHP said a pickup truck was travelling on Road 44 at approximately 60 miles per hour when it rear-ended a bicycle. The driver said he did not see the bike.

The rider, whose name is not released, was thrown off his bike and died at the scene.

Investigators are still identifying factors that might have led to the accident.
