VEHICLE COLLISION: Elderly Driver killed in Rancho Palos Verdes car collision

Rancho Palos Verdes – An 86-year-old driver was killed Sunday morning when his car was struck by a SUV in Palos Verdes Drive South, the authorities said.

According to reports, the victim was driving a red Mazda Miata along Palos Verdes Drive South near Hawthorne Boulevard when the accident happened at around 9:26 a.m.

The 86-year-old driver was turning onto Palos Verdes Drive South when a speeding Toyota Highlander smashed into it. The driver of the Miata was killed at the scene.

Authorities are still withholding additional information about the driver while his relatives are being notified.

Reports said there was no immediate information if the driver of the Toyota was injured.
