PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Elderly Woman Fatally Struck by Car while Crossing in Santa Ana Street

Santa Ana- A 60-year-old female pedestrian has died after being hit by a 2005 Nissan Altima while trying to cross the street using an undesignated crosswalk, said reports.
According to Santa Ana Police Department officials, the incident occurred along the 2700 block of 17th Street at around 9:30 p.m.
The woman identified as Maria Ramirez, from Santa Ana, was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange. She was pronounced dead after a few hours, said the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
Police said the male driver was moving west along the No.1 lane when he hit Ramirez. He stayed at the accident area and cooperated with the authorities.
