HARASSMENT, DISCRIMINATION: Former Burbank Police Lieutenant Loses Discrimination, Harassment Case against City

May 25, 2011

Burbank- A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has junked a harassment and discrimination case that was filed by an ex-Burbank police lieutenant against the city, said reports.

The case, which was filed by Omar Rodriguez in 2009 along with four other police officers, alleged that he was required to take an administrative leave after he complained about the inappropriate relationship between the officers union and police chief.

According to reports, the suit also alleged that he was subjected to harassment and racial discrimination.

Superior Court Judge Joanna O’Donnell stated that the plaintiff’s allegations lacked merit. The judge also concluded that Rodriguez cannot pursue a harassment case on beheld of others police officers who were allegedly harassed in the department.
