Gifford, NBC Scores in Preliminary
June 25, 2009
Los Angeles – A judge granted the motion filed by singer/actress Kathie Lee Gifford and NBC finding the suit against them to have insufficient details.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joanne O'Donnell, however, denied the defense’ motion to dismiss the case and gave the plaintiff a chance to amend and strengthen his complaint.
The lawsuit against Gifford and NBC was filed in December of 2008 in connection with a segment in “The Today Show” which Harold Eugene "Huck" Johns, a composer, claims to be his idea.
John alleges that the producers of the show together with Gifford plagiarized his idea on the segment “Everyone Has a Story” and so he filed charges on grounds of interference with contract and breach of implied contract.
