May 11, 2010
Pomona – A Los Angeles County health inspector was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery after he was caught on video grabbing and groping a donut shop owner, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.
According to prosecutors, Magdy Tawadros, 50, forcibly grabbed and groped a 45-year-old woman during an inspection on March 24. The battery was caught by the shop’s surveillance camera.
The video shows how Tawadros drew near the 115-pound woman and grabbed her as she tried to resist and move away.
If proven guilty, Tawadros faces up to six months imprisonment and a fine of $2,000.
Tawadros was immediately suspended from service after the victim exposed the video to the public.
A hearing for the case has yet been scheduled.
