ITC Favors Asus in Patent Dispute Against IBM
July 15, 2009
The International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday turned down the International Business Machines Corporation’s (IBM) request to review the initial court decision that rejected the firm’s proposed injunction to prevent Taiwan-based technology company Asustek from importing computer hardwares to the US.
In a statement, IBM spokesman said the company was disappointed with the decision, adding that they are considering other legal remedies to appeal their case.
In January 2008, the New York-based computer company asked the ITC to review its case after an administrative judge ruled that Asustek did not commit any infringement.
Asustek was not immediately available to give comments.
