CAR ACCIDENT: LA Police Officer Faces DUI and Hit-and-Run Charges
July 26, 2011
Los Angeles- A police officer was charged with Driving under the Influence (DUI) and Hit-and-Run violations before a LA District Court this week.
According to reports, the prosecutors filed two felony counts against Deputy Michael Anthony Grundy for his involvement in a car accident on January.
Grundy, 45 years old, was driving on downtown LA when he struck another car. The other motorist suffered injuries, but he failed to stop and help the victim. At least two fellow LAPD officers discovered what he has done and took him back to the accident scene. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers then arrested Grundy, reports said.
Grundy pleaded not guilty for his drunk driving and hit-and-run charges. He faced similar violations in 2005 Riverside car crash.
