PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Male Pedestrian Ran Over, Killed in Balboa Park

San Diego – A pedestrian who dashed into oncoming traffic was killed Tuesday afternoon near Florida Drive in Balboa Park, reports said.

The unidentified man was reportedly walking on a bicycle lane along Pershing Drive at around 1pm when he swiftly turned and ran into the street where vehicles were passing.

A driver tried to swerve but was unable to avoid the pedestrian who then rolled onto the hood of the Lexus sedan after being hit. The pedestrian then fell off onto the roadway where he was run over by another vehicle.

Rescuers were unable to revive the man and he was later pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities are investigating the accident as witnesses say the man was aware of the oncoming traffic before he darted to the street.
