WORKPLACE INJURY: One Worker Killed, another Critically Injured in Explosion

Los Angeles - At least one worker died while another one sustained critical injuries in an explosion at a metal works paint company.
According to reports, the L.A. Fire Department responded to a report of a fire and explosion at a commercial building along the 900 block of East 59th St.
Police said a male worker was electrocuted. He was rushed to the California Medical Center, where he was announced dead. He was described as a Latino, who is around 35-years-old.
Meanwhile, the other male worker who was thrown off the building due to the explosion sustained severe burn injuries and was rushed at the same hospital, where he was listed under a critical condition.
Investigators determined that the explosion resulted from the illegal tampering of a gas line.
