RAILROAD ACCIDENT: Police Investigate Metrolink Train Accident in Riverside

Riverside – Authorities are currently investigating the accident involving a Metrolink train that hit and killed a female pedestrian early morning the other day.

Reports said the accident occurred east of La Sierra station, which involved 91 Line with train number 701 of the Metrolink. Witness said the female victim was walking along the railroad tracks near Jefferson Street and Indiana Avenue when the accident happened.

Police shut down both tracks in the area during the investigation, which affected train lines servicing the Inland Empire and Orange County.

The identity was not disclosed by police pending the results of the investigation.
