HIT and RUN ACCIDENT: San Francisco Man Arrested after 3 Hit-and-Run Accidents

June 10, 2010

San Francisco – The San Francisco Police have arrested a 35-year-old man believed to be involved in three separate hit-and-run accidents in downtown San Francisco the other night.

The man was identified by police as Jermaine Standfield of San Francisco.

According to reports, Standfield struck a bicyclist after allegedly running a stop sign at Grove and Hyde Streets at about 11:35pm.

Instead of stopping, he moved on from the scene and broadsided a black Hyundai, which was carrying 4 people, at Eight and Market Street.

Standfield still did not stop and again struck a Toyota Prius after failing to stop at the intersection of Natoma and Seventh Streets, where he left his green Toyota Camry then fled on foot.

However, he was caught by San Francisco Police near the intersection of Sixth and Mission Streets.

The bicyclist and the occupants of the Hyundai were treated for minor injuries and was released immediately.

A woman from the Prius, however, was sent to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The San Francisco Police are still investigating the reason why Standfield was in such a hurry but there may be signs that alcohol was a factor.

He was booked on three counts of felony hit-and-run and two counts of felony DUI causing injury.
