CAR ACCIDENT:Saturation Patrols to be Installed in Costa Mesa This Holiday Season
Orange County – Instead of installing drunk-driving checkpoints now that the holiday season is drawing near, Costa Mesa police focused more on installing saturation patrols all over the area.
According to reports, Mayor Pro Tempore Jim Righeimer has decided to decrease the number of drunk-driving checkpoints all over Costa Mesa. This is based on the findings of Chief Tom Gazsi, the newly appointed head of police of the Orange County city.
Righeimer also reiterated using Gazsi’s recommendation that saturation patrols would be able to arrest two to three times more drunk drivers than checkpoints do, reports said.
The saturation of police forces in the Costa Mesa area would enable them to respond to emergencies such as car accidents involving drunk drivers.
