CAR CRASH: Solo Crash Kills Elderly Driver in Torrance

Torrance – A 75-year-old man died from injuries he sustained in an early Tuesday morning single vehicle crash near Maricopa Street, reports said.

Authorities said James T. Tengan, of Rancho Palos Verdes, was reportedly driving alone on the southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard at about 4:45 am when he veered off the road before hitting a concrete railroad bridge which is used to divide the street.

Authorities who responded to the accident pronounced Tengan dead on the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The road was closed for some time as authorities cleared the debris and investigated the accident.
