Technology Giants Charged Over Touchpad Patent Infringement

Several technology giants including Apple Inc, Microsoft, LG, and Philips have been charged with patent infringement case for allegedly violating another company’s patented touch-sensitive interface.
Tsera, LLC filed its case before the Texas Eastern District Court and accused more than 20 companies of violating its touchpad technologies that allow users to easily control devices such as music players and laptops.
In a court-affidavit, Tsera is seeking treble damages or triple the amount of the actual economic damages against Apple.
The company also said that Apple has “knowingly infringed the touchpad interface since September 2004.”
The company is also seeking economic damages and royalties to other defendants for its future use of the said technology.
