DROWNING ACCIDENT: Toddler Drowns after Mom Falls Asleep Beside Pool in Merced

Merced- A 2-year-old girl has died due to a drowning accident, which occurred while her mother was sleeping beside a house pool on the East Sandy Lane, said reports.

According to the Merced Police Department, the toddler was found at the bottom of the pool. The mother pulled her daughter out of the pool after she woke up and responding officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was on the child.

The toddler was rushed to Mercy Medical Center, where she was announced dead hours after the incident.

Reports said the mother was spared from any liability because authorities believe that no foul play was involved in the incident.
