TRUCK ACCIDENT: Trailer Overturns, Spills 8 Tons of Melons across a Blythe Road.
June 30,2011
Blythe – About eight tons of melons spilled across Lovekin Boulevard when a farm trailer overturned and accidentally discharged its load on the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports said the accident occurred at around 12:30 pm, north of 18th Avenue near a farming community and about two miles south of Interstate 10. It was the second truck accident that occurred that day as earlier a truck overturned in the center divide of Interstate 10 in Coachella, spilling a load of watermelons and diesel fuel.
The accident however did not cause any traffic congestion as the Blythe road is not a heavily traveled county road.
