WORKERS’ COMPENSATION: Two Amusement Park Workers Injured in Crane Accident to Get Compensation
August 31, 2011
California – At least two workers of a small amusement park in California were injured when a crane collapsed into them, reports said.
According to authorities, the two employees of Scandia Family Fun Center were doing routine maintenance of a 165-foot-tall Screamer ride when the crane and part of the ride toppled into them.
California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA) claims that the company is appealing no less than $18,000 fine for failing to have proper emergency response on site, news reports said.
Authorities say the company may be required to provide worker’s compensation benefits to the injured employee.
