VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Two Men Survived Burning Big Rig in Strathmore

August 24, 2011

Strathmore – At least two men survived a burning big rig Tuesday afternoon, reports said. Authorities said the survivors, driver Roger Goreham, 48, and passenger Rodney Goreham, 52, jumped out of the truck when it blew a tire and crashed into another vehicle.

According to witnesses, the truck was speeding through the southbound left lane of north Hatch Road when the tire exploded. The driver then lost control of the truck, swerved left, and bumped a Toyota van driven by Kwai Kwan, 64, from San Francisco.

The big rig bumped a metal guardrail and a center divider, followed by a concrete bridge pillar that broke the fuel tank.

The Gorehams were able to escape seconds before the truck burst into flames.
