Woman Fails to Stop at Red Light; Hit by Garbage Truck

Sacramento -- A 51-year-old woman was critically injured after she failed to stop her pick-up truck and obstructed the way of a garbage truck that hit her Tuesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports said that the unidentified woman was about to go into Bradshaw Road from Aldercreek Way when she ran on a red light at a construction area traffic sign and got into the path of a California Waste Recovery System truck.
The driver of the garbage truck was identified as Roberto Mora who was then heading south of Bradshaw Road at a speed of 40mph.
Mora reportedly noticed the vehicle but failed to stop in time as he hit the woman’s truck causing his truck to roll-over.
The woman sustained serious injuries while Mora suffered head lacerations. Both victims were immediately taken to a hospital.
The woman’s identity and condition is yet to be released.
